Genesis
…is the first book of the Masoretic Text [MT] and of the book of Moses (a.k.a. Torah or Pentateuch). Although anonymous, most early Jewish traditions ascribe the authorship of the book to Moses. The book centers on origins. The origin of the universe (Genesis 1), of humanity (Genesis 1-2), of sin (Genesis 3), and of Israel are included in the book. Particular emphasis is placed on the founding fathers (i.e. the Patriarchs) of the nation of Israel, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
