Genesis 30:19-21

 וַתַּ֤הַר עוֹד֙ לֵאָ֔ה וַתֵּ֥לֶד בֵּן־שִׁשִּׁ֖י לְּיַעֲקֹֽב׃ 20  וַתֹּ֣אמֶר לֵאָ֗ה זְבָדַ֨נִי אֱלֹהִ֥ים׀ אֹתִי֮ זֵ֣בֶד טוֹב֒ הַפַּ֨עַם֙ יִזְבְּלֵ֣נִי אִישִׁ֔י כִּֽי־יָלַ֥דְתִּי לוֹ֖ שִׁשָּׁ֣ה בָנִ֑ים וַתִּקְרָ֥א אֶת־שְׁמֹ֖ו זְבֻלֽוּן׃ 21  וְאַחַ֖ר יָ֣לְדָה בַּ֑ת וַתִּקְרָ֥א אֶת־שְׁמָ֖הּ דִּינָֽה׃

Verse 19

  • Clause Typology 1 (וַתַּ֤הַר עוֹד֙ לֵאָ֔ה): V-M-S
  • Clause Typology 2 (וַתֵּ֥לֶד בֵּן־שִׁשִּׁ֖י לְּיַעֲקֹֽב): V-O-M
    • The usual form of בן with maqqeph is בֶּן־; however, here the vowel is sere (GKC 96).
    • The dagesh with the lamed is conjunctive (see GKC 20f).

Verse 20

  • Clause Typology 1 (וַתֹּ֣אמֶר לֵאָ֗ה זְבָדַ֨נִי אֱלֹהִ֥ים׀ אֹתִי֮ זֵ֣בֶד טוֹב֒ הַפַּ֨עַם֙ יִזְבְּלֵ֣נִי אִישִׁ֔י כִּֽי־יָלַ֥דְתִּי לוֹ֖ שִׁשָּׁ֣ה בָנִ֑ים): V-S-O

    • The particle אתי is vocalized as the definite direct object marker and not the preposition, אִתִּי “with me.”  See W-O 10.2.3b for an explanation and other examples of this phenomenon of a double object.
  • Embedded Typology B (הַפַּ֨עַם֙ יִזְבְּלֵ֣נִי אִישִׁ֔י): M-V-O-S
